Welcome to AMD quick guide for new players

***A quick note:  I am currently in the process of updating this site to primarily reflect information pertaining to the grey server and will concentrate almost all information towards helping players in grey.  Please be patient as we do this.  Please feel encouraged to post or send suggestions, comments, and/or corrections in the forums or directly to the admin (more->contact us in the above menu)  or pm Bunsen in kakao chat.  Thanks for your patience.***

Hello Recruit!

There are alots of questions to be answered once u set foot on Blue Server. You have joined AMD, best and funniest corp around. Just look at Clancy - Hilarious! xD
Seriously, you made a great choice, we have an advanced garrison with the loads of perks that boost your ship.  You may have already noticed that your storage capacity has increased, and your hit points.  There's more!

So how do you get on in this game? First go to BD Menu. Turn off everything. Hyperdrive, tactics, supercharge, mind surge. You will need them later.

Fly about the map and you will notice 3 colored sectors: Blue - non combat safe zone, Grey - NPC hunting area with weak NPCs and best resource drops, and Black - PVP area, if u get in black return to grey as soon as possible; NPCs here are alot stronger, and if player comes along he will most definately try to kill you!

If you wander into black you may well find a collection of invaded sectors - they are circled in red and have a symbol showing what class of invasion they are. If you get in one you may well die but from the massive damage inflicted but if you survive, double back and run away.

Now, u start in a shuttle. 3 equip points ship. Get autocannon I or II and storage I or II. You dont need a hull in grey area. Its the best start combo. Kill NPCs. Your storage capacity is 25-30 depending on your storage. Kill, get filled with resources, once u are full go to the nearest starport. Sell everything in resource tab. Go to sell items, sell everything there too. If u manage to get common storage IV or V or screamer/autocannon/mass driver III or IV dont sell them. Go to blue sector on map, open inventory and click on Bank Item tab.

Try to keep your hit points topped up - if they go red you may get hit and die - especially if you wander into black by accident.  Long press your own ship when you have metals and it,ll weld you back up.  If you have no metals, long-pres on a spaceport for the same effect (using harvested metals is cheaper though).  While you are very low level you will benefit from free repairs "from your ship" - don't come to rely on these because they stop shortly.

Now you are exploring the map, gaining some exploration credits, killing NPCs and growing. Your 1st goal is to get to Level 3.  Once u get the message that you have unlocked the next ship, fly back to earth, click on the planet and work out how to change to the bigger ship u just unlocked. This happens again at 6, 9, 12, 15, 20 & 30 (i think - its a new update and i have bigger ships already - Street)  Each larger ship gives you another equip point.  A really good ship to get to is a battleship. Plenty of room (8ep) and still quite fast.  You can short cut getting to one by spending 62500 on a Battleship at the shhipyard. Its a 8 equip points ship.  It's great value for money - anything else at this level is a waste of credits towards your next BIG ship! Equip it with screamer/auto cannon/mass driver III-IV and storage IV-V depending on what u have or what u can find in starports. Now serious money starts.  No need for armour unless you have found one that gives you extra benefits.

You need to chat to the other players in the corp - its what makes this game better than sitting at home playing with yourself. I mean by yourself.

When you are lvl 5 we will get hold of uncommon storage for you which you can equip on your Battleship. Ask in corp chat if anyone can spare some uncommon equips.  They are more common than the name suggests, we have them on nano garries and stuff.  Uncommon storages hold 5 resources more than common ones, and have 1 equip point less requirement. Using an UC V or VI means your total cargo space will be 50-55 depending on your storage level. We may even have a funky gun we can chuck in too :)

As you may have noticed, in Black Dollar menu (bottom left on android) u can buy Fighter and Repair Drone. Fighter does damage every 10 seconds and has 3000 hit points. Drone heals your ship for 75 hull every 20 seconds and has 2000 hit points. Each costs 10 black dollars, but you can get all but one of the BD back when you :recall later. You can buy BDs with real cash or with in-game credits. On market, 1bd costs about 4k credits (Dec 13). So to get both Fighter and Drone you need to collect another 66-80k. U can ask for 10 on a loan from a super and u might get lucky ;)  Keep them safe, heal them every time they drop under 1000HP. They are really useful.

Your next goal is lvl10. You continue to farm, gather credits, stay off from spaceball, get to know corporate members better, and have fun in this booooring area of space. Any item drops which are green or blue, keep them inside your bank. Dont sell them, till you find out if they are valuable or not!

When you get to lvl10, you will gain 10 black dollars. Once you are lvl10, you will be able to equip Rare items. Blue ones. But you dont need them yet. You could continue your journey to lvl15, collect more credits, and soon you will have Flayer cash. Currently best way to get a flayer is to ask Corporation or Alliance member to make one for you with Reward Points. Normal Flayer class ship price on Planet is 1 milion credits. With reward points, you can get one for 550-700k credits. So once you are at that point, msg in corp chat, and we will do our best to find you someone to make you a Flayer. (once u buy a ship u can not sell it).  You might want to seriously consider the alternative of buying an assasin for 1000BD, this is a ship with built-in stealth - again talk to people in corp chat

Keep on farming in your new 12 equip point ship. Get rare storage pref. III but II if you need the space, get rare carbide or similar hull V or VI, and collect cash till u hit lvl15 so u can get best gun available.

Suggested basic requirements for black space are:

Fast gun like an Autocannon or glory etc VIII - X rare+ (6-8 equip points) or equivalent
Holocrine pref, or Carbide hull V - VI rare (4 equip points)
Storage II - IV rare or III - V ultra rare (0-2 equip points)
optional Rare Light Core Drill V1 (1 equip point) - speed up your xp gain

Getting rare items can be obtained by drops, buying them, winning them or AUGMENTING uncommon items at a planet. Auging of the items isnt advised for basic items like storages and armours because it costs you black dollars which are hard to find and its poor value for your BDs. If you cant find a rare gun you want, you can get an uncommon one to aug. Auging your gun from uncommon to rare costs you 48 black dollars.
If you are really struggling to find what you want ask for help with ANYTHING.  Sometimes people are too caught up in other things to answerm but persist and be patient, they aren't ignoring you just off elsewhere...

Depending on your drops, items bought on auction house, or won on raffles, you will equip a ship that will be able to farm in black and go to invasions. Fully equiped flayer costs around 1.5-2mil credits. And coincidentally, that is amount of cash u can earn if you stay in grey till level 15. Then the real Infinite Black experience starts.

Papa made this page (and Streethawk tweaked it) so you all can read it before you start playing the game. It will help each and every one of us, new players will get quick and best guide to get to level 15 and get ready for game after it, and Leadership of our Coorporation will not have to repeat themselves as parrots.  These are just some guidelines, we aren't telling you how you must play the game, but you will progress to the better part of the game quickest using these methods.

When you fly in black never sell all your metals, and learn to fly away from bigger npc ships and grouped ones if you want to make money - learn to judge it.
Always keep a course to a nearby garrison plotted if you can - hit jump if you get caught out by the enemy and run for it.
To call for help in allied chat be brief and include a location - e.g. 2 ret on me 55/80.
Dont call for help against npcs except elite ones and bigger (e.g. Boss). Don't call for help if you wonder into an invasion by accident. People will laugh at you!
Do not fly in the rift without at least 5000hull, probably more. Big ships. Big crits. Lots of them.

Finally, and this part is gospel, the elite players of the alliance group up quite a lot - please don't join their groups until you reach level 15.  Once you do and join in listen to what they require and back off if they tell you to.  Don't offer to do specialist jobs like teching until you really know your stuff and DONT ARGUE IN ALLY CHAT - let an AMD lead and we will ask them to chill.

To be continued...
